Build manufacturing shift rosters automatically.

Tell Rosterzen which lines and shifts need covering, who is trained, who is available, and the working rules to follow. It builds a workable roster and shows you any gaps it cannot fill.

When someone calls out

Rebuild the roster without breaking another shift.

Change an operator's availability and Rosterzen rechecks skills, coverage, hours and rest across the schedule.

Before

Tuesday 06:00–14:00

Line 1 Early Operator → Chen

Change Event

Chen is absent due to emergency machine repair.

You reassign Liam from Late shift to Early shift.

Late shift unstaffed

Liam's late shift is left completely vacant, halting Line 1 packaging run.

Overtime cost spike

Jakub is pulled into extra hours, increasing overtime pressure for the week.

Fatigue breach next day

Jakub can no longer take Wednesday early shift without breaking the configured rest rule.

One manual change left a production shift open and created another rest-rule conflict.

How it works

From production needs to a workable roster.

Add the work to cover, add your operators and rules, then generate the roster.

FAQ

Manufacturing scheduling questions

Can one operator be trained on several machines?

Yes. A worker can hold several skills and be considered for any eligible assignment, but cannot cover overlapping work at the same time.

Can I schedule from a production plan?

Yes. Represent each required machine, line or operating period as coverage, then specify the staffing and skills it needs.

What if the plant has enough people but not enough trained people?

Rosterzen keeps the affected assignment open and shows the skill shortage instead of treating raw headcount as sufficient.
