Build retail staff rosters automatically.

Tell Rosterzen which store periods and shifts need covering, which roles they need, who is available, and the working rules to follow. It builds a workable roster and shows you any shifts it cannot fill.

When someone calls out

Cover the shift without leaving another one short.

Change someone's availability and Rosterzen rechecks role coverage, keyholder requirements, hours and availability across the roster.

Closing Keyholder & Cash Lead → Grace

Change Event

Grace calls out sick.

You ask Oliver to close the store instead.

Closing authority missing

Oliver is not marked as an authorised closing keyholder, so the closing requirement is still uncovered.

Manager has to be called in

Calling Hannah back would solve this gap but creates another long day for the opening manager.

Next shift is affected

Moving another keyholder to Thursday night may leave Friday opening short instead.

Assigning a worker who cannot close the store created another last-minute coverage problem.

How it works

From store coverage to a workable roster.

Add the shifts and store periods to cover, add your team and rules, then generate the roster.

FAQ

Retail scheduling questions

Can workers have several store roles?

Yes. One worker can be eligible for cashier, stock or sales-floor work, while overlapping requirements still need separate people.

Can Rosterzen handle time-off and availability?

Yes. Use them as scheduling inputs so unavailable workers are not assigned in the generated roster.

Does Rosterzen handle shift swaps and team chat?

Rosterzen is focused first on generating the roster. Use your existing communication method for publishing and swaps unless those workflows are enabled in your product setup.
